My Food Philosophy

I believe you can have a healthy, fit, and fun lifestyle while eating your favorite foods.  I dislike restricting foods because they are “bad” for me.  I am a firm believer that food is meant to be consumed in moderation.  I think it is important to eat balanced, colorful, and vitamin-rich meals.  Meals should be centered around whole grains, fruits, vegetables, lean meats/proteins, and low-fat dairy products.  Of course, there is always room for little indulgences as long as they are in moderation.

Overall, I tend to cook healthy and balanced meals; however, when I eat or cook something that is not considered healthy or balanced, I always practice moderation.  Usually when I have a craving, it can be satisfied if I slowly take my time enjoying the food rather than inhaling it.  It is important to practice mindful eating so you do not have a tendency to overeat at meal times.

If you want a different diet, body, or eating habits, then you have to change it.  I can give you the tools you need to succeed; however, you have to be the one willing to make the change.  I believe anyone can change at any point in their life, but in order to make the change there has be self-motivation.  I enjoy working with others who want to change their health for the better.  I also enjoy working with those who may have to make specific diet changes due to their health. Diets may include heart health, gluten free, carbohydrate counting (diabetic), and low sodium diets.
